13.04.2016. Le Sirenuse
For Carla Sersale, it all began as something of a game back in 1990, sparked by the challenge of creating and curating a different kind of hotel shop. Today, Emporio Sirenuse is not just a shop but a brand, a reference point for light, elegant resort wear, jewellery and accessories, inspired by the cultured Dolce Vita vibe of the Sersale family’s historic Le Sirenuse hotel in Positano.
Now Emporio Le Sirenuse is expanding fully into menswear, launching a collaboration with young Italian designer Luca Larenza, who has created a line that will draw on its parent hotel’s reputation for natural elegance, effortless luxury and attention to detail in a collection aimed at sophisticated globetrotters. The Caserta-born, Milan-based designer responded instinctively to the hotel’s mix of classic heirloom furnishings and traditional, vibrant Amalfi Coast colours, so close to his own refined yet uninhibited tonal palette.
The new line takes in, among other items, classic linen trousers, unlined summer linen jackets, sleeveless Nehru jackets, crumpled linen kurtas and loose beach pants, and a range of poplin cotton shirts, available in five colours, in prints designed exclusively for Emporio Sirenuse by Viola Parrocchetti. The Emporio’s existing menswear offerings, a range of ever-popular classic summer linen shirts, plus British designer Allegra Hicks’ jaunty swimwear, will continue to be available online and at the Positano stores. The new men’s collection will adopt the same, widely recognised label used for the brand’s womenswear collection: ‘Le Sirenuse, Positano’.
From the spring of 2016, the summer menswear capsule collection is exclusively available in the new Emporio Le Sirenuse men’s store in Via Colombo, just a few paces from the hotel. Items can also be ordered online at www.emporiosirenuse.com.
